About Swami Dayanand Saraswati
Swami Dayanand Saraswati was one of
the rare personality born in India after Bhishama & Krsihna. He
brought the light of true principle of Vedas at the time when entire
nation was gripped with superstition, illiteracy, social demoralization,
defaming the women, characteristic weakness & over all nation wide
lethargy towards the freedom.
He was born in a small villge of Tankara, Gujrat in 1823 and left the
home at an age of 12 in search of true "Shiva". He roamed
around the India and finally got his true Guru "Swami Virjanand"
who taught him true Vedic principles. After accomplishing education,
Swami Virjanand asked him to start a new revolution to place India again
at the seat of "Jagat Guru" (Teacher of the world).
While starting the great task he found that the main reason of
dejection of this nation is religious blindness. Hindus build up
shameful characters of great personalities (Maha Purush) like
Rama,Shiva, Krishna and following illogical practices of worship.
Muslims & Christians following the false and indigestible principle
of Quran & Bible while national pride has been forgotten.
Swami Dayanand debated (Shastratha) with highly placed Pandits, Maulvi,
Padri & leaders of other faiths and it was the power of true
knowledge of Vedas that non of the leader of any of the faith could
prove truthfulness of their respective beliefs. They had to agree on
vedic philosophy but it was unfortunate that a prejudice mentality
unable them to leave their old beliefs and accept the "Satya".
It was an example of his true wisdom towards reformation that he called
up all the religious leader on a same platform in Delhi and urged them
to make a "sarva-dharma". He proposed all faiths to leave
their self prejudice and accept all the wise things of human welfare as
"Dharma". To define this he wrote in his famous book "Satyarth
Prakash" that if all the followers of different faiths leave their
predetermine belief and accept the principle of humanity which are
acceptable to all as "Dharma" then this entire world will be
highly gratified.
Swami Dayanand was deeply concern about the poor condition of the women
and wanted to give them all the rights of equality. He was the first who
up lauded for the women education and proved that the Vedas give equal
right to women to be educated and described that women are the
prestigious part of human civilization.
There is barely any subject where Swami Dayanand fall short to give his
valuable thoughts based upon Vedas. He described the ideal social system
(Varn Vyavastha) where he described the roles and rights of different
class of society. He was the first who stood tall to give all rights to
"Shudras" and called their status higher then "Brahmins".
We can't imagine the Independence of India without Swami Dayanand.
There was a huge number of followers of Swami Dayanand Saraswati
inspired by his revolutionary thoughts at both part (Garam Dal &
Naram Dal)fought together for the freedom of our mother land. Swami
Dayanad said "Videshi Suraj sey Swadeshi Swaraj bahut Acha hota hai
(Self governance is much better then good governance of foreigners).
At last its necessary to mentioned that after a 700 years of
enslavement of Mughals & 200 years of Britishers if we still found
the symbols of Aryan/Vedic culture alive in India and now spreading over
the world then it's the logical and proven vedic principles which Swami
Dayanand brought through scarifying his life.
