Supporting Kargil Warriors, 2001DOODH MANGO TO KHEER
DENGE,
KASHMEER MANGA TO CHEER DENGE Delhi Junction Platform 1A. During the Kargil War Arya Veer Dal Delhi Pradesh organised a special campaign to raise the spirit and enthusiasm of the brave Indian Soldiers leaving Delhi to fight on War-front. Everynight around 9.30 pm AryaVeers from various Shakhas of Delhi visited Old Delhi Railway Station announcing slogans like Doodh mango kheer denge, Kashmir manga cheer denge, Amar rahega Hindustan, nahi bachega Pakistan, Aage aage veer Jawan, Peeche sara Hindustan with Tiranga in hand. Special permission was obtained to serve food & eatables to the soilders. AryaVeers also sung patriotic songs to mark the occasion. Soldiers were looked overwhelmed by such a warm see-off. The 1999 Kargil War took place between May 8, when Pakistani forces and Kashmiri militants were detected atop the Kargil ridges and July 14 when both sides had essentially ceased their military operations. The spring and summer incursion of Pakistan-backed armed forces into territory on the Indian side of the line of control around Kargil in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the Indian military campaign to repel the intrusion left 524 Indian soldiers dead and 1,363 wounded.By 30 June 1999 Indian forces were prepared for a major high-altitude offensive against Pakistani posts along the border in the Kashmir region. |
